Help to Buy Wales – Deadline March 2025

Help to Buy Wales provides a shared equity loan to buyers of new-build homes. The scheme supports the purchase of homes bought through a registered Help to Buy – Wales builder.

The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme has already ended in England and is due to expire in March 2025 in Wales.

Come March 2025, you will no longer be able to take advantage of the 20% equity loan from the Government to help you purchase a new build property.

The Help to Buy scheme allows you to put down a 5% deposit, be provided with a 20% equity loan of the purchase price and obtain a mortgage for the remaining 75%. See below a financial example.
